There are certain things in the household that need a little bit of extra attention, and sometimes sheets are one of those things. Here are 6 Big Mistakes You Make Washing Sheets. Not to be discouraging, its a good thing you wash your sheets, and you should definitely keep doing that! In fact, this list even says that you should consider washing them weekly or at the very least, every two weeks, to maintain the freshness of the sheets. Our sheets accumulate the oils and dirt from our skin and they can become soiled rather quickly if you don't wash them enough. And then you are having to buy new sheets too often.
The setting we use to wash sheets is important too, you can wash them on the hottest setting to remove germs, but it is even better if there is a setting that you can use that will gradually cool down the water as the wash cycle finishes. But important to kill all of the germs and bacteria on the sheets, there are things we can't even see, that live in our sheets, which is why it is important to wash them often. Mites are everywhere, it's just a part of life, but you can reduce them by washing your sheets frequently.
The other thing is the drying cycle, this list says not to dry sheets with towels and other things, sheets need room to spin around in the dryer so they don't get all wound up around themselves or other things. The sheets dry the best on a lower tumble dry setting than the hottest one that you would probably instinctually put the dryer on, but this can shrink them, and they won't be able to fit your bed any more.
